Attleboro Schools Reject White Hawks Fee Waiver, 6-1
School Committee · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Attleboro School Committee votes 6-1 to reject a full fee waiver for the White Hawks football program's stadium use. The committee separately ratified a unanimous three-year contract with the Association of Educational Clerical Personnel, running through June 2029 with raises of 2.25 percent, 2.25 percent and 2.5 percent, for a total cost just over 11 percent. Member Storrs argued the fee waiver would be "an impermissible diversion of public education appropriations" under the state's anti-aid amendment, while members Bennett and Larson pushed to send the matter to the policy subcommittee rather than force a vote.
The panel also approved $35,472.59 in prior-year invoices and a $6,300 PTO donation on its consent agenda. A revised, lower fee structure is expected from the policy subcommittee on August 31, ahead of the White Hawks' September 5 home opener.
