Attleboro City Council Elects Cobus President, Dolan Vice President for New Term

ATTLEBORO — January 6, 2026 — Attleboro City Council seats new leadership for the 2026-2027 term in a 6-5 presidential vote. At its January 6 organizational meeting, the full 11-member council elected Todd Cobus as Council President over James Delisio, with Laura Dolan elected Vice President 8-2 in a separate roll-call vote. The City Clerk presided as President Pro Tempore and administered the oath of office to both officers. In remarks after receiving the gavel, Cobus said the close leadership vote "will not define how I work with anyone individually going forward" and cited the city's recent cyberattack as an opportunity to "modernize how the council does business." Cobus announced a Saturday morning all-council orientation to surface shared priorities for the term, which he described as "incredibly challenging, both financially and with everything going on."
